As a Summer School Officer, you will join a small, enthusiastic and international team to organise our annual VU Amsterdam Summer School in July 2025. Next to the organisational aspects, you will be involved in the communication with students and with internal- and external partners. You will also be involved in setting up the social programme before, during and after the school to introduce the students to each other, Dutch culture, Amsterdam and the Netherlands.

A challenging temporary position in a socially engaged organisation. On full-time basis the remuneration amounts to a minimum gross monthly salary of €2,995 (scale 8) and a maximum € 4,103 (scale 8), depending on your education and experience. The job profile is based on the university job ranking system and is vacant for 0.8 FTE.
Your employment will be temporary; from February until September 2025.

International Office
The International Office (IO) is responsible for advising on the internationalization strategy at the institutional level and advises, and provides services, to students and international staff of the university. The Mobility Department processes the applications from international students who want to enrol in an English-taught Bachelor's or Master's programme, provides the credential evaluation of foreign certificates and processes the applications of visas, residence permits, and work permits for students and staff. In addition, we inform students about the opportunities for a study and an internship abroad, manage various funds and exchange programmes and provide accommodation for international students and staff.
Student & Educational Affairs
We at Student & Educational Affairs ensure that Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam works like a well-oiled machine. We assist in logistics and help with realising educational programmes; we also aim to create a worry-free and unforgettable university experience for our students. We support students from enrolment right through graduation. We help international students and researchers find their way around VU Amsterdam, for example by arranging housing and other needs. We also work closely with the faculties in developing educational policy and implementing educational improvements. We want students to learn, grow and have fun! That’s why we organise sport and cultural activities for everyone on campus and beyond.
